This is really helpful reading this. I had to rehome my 3 year old labrador Retriver a week ago, i’ve had her since for 3 years since she was 8 weeks old. She was the lovely sweetest girl very cheeky but like my shadow. Due to aggression issues i had to give her up as felt unsafe in home, the incidents only happened sporadically all food related the last one was because didn’t want her food previously it was with food she had found. I tried to work with breeder who was also a dog trainer but for mine and partners safety i had to give her up to the breeder. She is now with her sisters and mum, so know she will be well looked after and happy but doesn’t stop the sadness and emptiness and tears that come from nowhere. Always thinking what could i have done differently as she was so lovely apart from this aggressive moments.
i’m hoping one day I can move on and adopt another dog.
