I am devastated. I can’t eat, sleep or stop crying. My 2.8 year old Golden named Dorian had to be put to sleep on April 1.
Just before lunchtime that day, we received a call from Dr. Kevin at Simcoe Animal Hospital. Dorian took ill on Friday morning and after numerous trips to Simcoe and a full gamut of tests with finally, surgery, we lost him from our lives. We are simply devastated.

Dorian was our first ever dog, a joy in our lives and absolutely beautiful with people and especially children. But, he was an avid chewer. At some time on Thursday or before, and unbeknownst to us, he ingested a string with serrated plastic on each end. This string went through and tore much of his intestines. As a result, there were no solutions for the doctor, or us.

I am struggling to understand why and how this happened to such a young dog. And I am blaming myself. I’m simply crushed.
