Comment on What to do when you think your vet made a mistake by Eric.

We just took our 5 year old corgi into a veterinary clinic. They told us she had tore the ligaments in her rear leg. So after some conversation we decided to get her in for surgery. The said it was the gold standard for this type of injury. It was called a TPLO surgery and was performed routinely. Keep in mind that this dog was extremely active and never tired of being on the go. We dropped her off at 7:30 am on November 1 and we’re told there was nothing to worry about and that they would be in contact that afternoon. At 11:00 am the phone rang to be told that at the end of the surgery on the last stitch her heart stopped and she died. I can’t get it out of my head that the doctor or anesthesiologist made a mistake. The clinic told us “ these things happen “ , I think they are lying to us but I can’t really prove anything . I’m so angry and confused right now that I can’t get any answers. Just trying to cope because I really want to honor my dog but my heads not there. So just my thoughts, please make sure of everything that your vet has in mind and talk with them more than we did. The trust in the person your leaving a important part of your life with is very important and valuable. Please learn from my experiences
